Hardangervidda, Norway
On our road trip from Oslo to the city of Bergen, Jack and I drove through central Norway and stopped by Hardangervidda, northern Europe's largest mountain plateau. Even though we had just spent the day before in Oslo with beautiful, summery weather, the higher altitude in Hardangervidda retains its cold, alpine climate year round.
Hardangervidda National Park is truly a magical place for all nature lovers, and I recommend you visit. The park was created as a haven for the natural landscape, and arctic flora and fauna. In particular, it secures a vast region of migration routes for some of the largest, wild reindeer herds in the world. There are numerous hiking and cycling paths, Vøringsfossen waterfall, Måbødalen valley, fishing, and cross-country skiing, to name a few of the many activities available in Hardangervidda. It is a definite must see!
