Rocking The Boho Chic Look For Fall
Happy Autumns loves!
A new season means new fashion, and refreshing your look! One of my favorite styles is free-spirited, Bohemian fashion. I’m wearing this vintage dress that used to be my mother’s! The flower and paisley print along with the bell sleeves on the dress make it the perfect centerpiece to creating my Bohemian look. Check out how I styled it in a glamping look here! I wore this outfit on the last day of our recent road trip to Joshua Tree. I feel like boho fashion and Joshua Tree go together seamlessly! I had so much fun styling this shoot, where I imagined a young woman full of wanderlust traveling anywhere and everywhere, and taking pictures along the way. The vintage leather bags are keepsakes from my grandparents and the hat box is from my mom. I love pieces that are handed down in the family. They truly are priceless!
If you’re unsure of where to start when creating a boho outfit for yourself, then this is the post for you! I’ve broken down the elements to rocking the boho chic look for fall to make it easy peasy. Keep scrolling down to see the top 6 essential pieces to pulling together your boho look, with descriptions and curated picks that you can shop! I’m eyeing so many things for myself, lol!
1. BOHO DRESS
When searching for the perfect Bohemian dress, here are some characteristics to look for: flowy fabric, floral, paisley, and or geometric patterns, embroidery, tassel or fringe details, and a loose fit. More is more in Bohemian Fashion, so don’t shy away from unexpected prints and colors. Colors can be quite varied, from dirty pastels, earthy tones, deep jewel tones, and more! The style draws inspiration from 60s hippie chic, with influences of Western/Native fashion, but always with a free-spirited feel. Check out my top picks below. I’m absolutely dying over these gorgeous prints!
2. BOHO BAGS
Bohemian Bags can really vary in style, but stick to natural materials like woven rattan bags, leather bags with fun details, wooden bags, fabric bags with colorful prints and embroidery, and more. Just like Boho dresses, fringe, embroidery, pom poms, tassels, and other fun details are totally welcome.
3. BOHO BOOTS
I feel like the perfect pair of shoes can elevate any outfit, and with boho fashion, it’s no different. Ankle boots are perfect for a fall boho look. Think heeled leather booties, cowboy boots with patterns or fringe, metal studs or buckles, lace up details, embroidered flowers, crushed velvet, leopard print, and more. Have fun with your shoes!
4. LAYERS: CARDIGANS, KIMONOS, WRAPS, & SCARVES
Because the fall season brings along crisper weather, layering is key. Keep warm with knitted cardigans, floral print kimonos/wraps, and patterned scarves. Have fun with design elements like fringe, tassels, shaggy knit, and patterns. Belt a long cardigan over your dress, wear your scarf around your neck or in your hair, or playfully mix patterns with your layers. The world is your oyster!
5. HEAD PIECES: HATS, HEADBANDS, FLOWER CROWNS, & HAIR SCARVES
Head pieces in a Bohemian outfit is one of the most fun accessories. There’s such a variety of fun things you can try on to give that extra pizzaz to your look. Go with a wide brim hat and cowboy boots if you want to add some Western flair to your ensemble. One of my favorite accessories are headbands and turbans, which can give you those mysterious gypsy vibes. And if you love flowers, then flower crowns can really make a beautiful statement. For those that want something practical and simple, go with a hair scarf. It’s understated yet uber chic!
6. BOHO JEWELRY
Boho jewelry is so fun. Have fun with long layered necklaces, statement earrings with fringe, layered rings, stacked bracelets, turquoise and other semi-precious stones, and so much more. More is more with boho jewelry, so have fun with it!
Hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful! Let me know if you’re into Bohemian fashion as well, and if there are other essential items to creating a boho look. I love seeing how people have their own unique takes on fashion styles. It’s what makes fashion so fun!
