Blue Wildwood
Whenever I think about traveling, I conjure up images of distant locations, foreign languages and fascinating cultures. Because for many, the allure of travel is in discovering the exotic and unknown. As I was ruminating over what could be my first travel post, I realized I didn't need to look far. My first travel destination would be home.
While I love trekking overseas to new destinations, I often overlook the fact that there are hidden gems right under my nose! Wildwood Park is a beautiful, natural park in my high school hometown of Thousand Oaks. It's a natural oasis of waterfalls, scenic trails, and beautiful flora and fauna that changes with the seasons. I grew up hiking here with my family and friends, and this place is steeped with nostalgia and sentiment. Whenever I come visit my parents, I enjoy visiting Wildwood for a nice weekend hike.
Inspired by Wildwood Park, I styled this summer outfit with flower nymphs in mind. I’ve come here numerous times, but I continue to be awed by its beauty and get excited every time I spot a coyote or rabbit. The park is less than an hour’s drive from Los Angeles, so I recommend coming here for a quick, weekend diversion. Do you have any favorite travel spots in your hometown? I'd love to find out!
