Army Green Overalls
I just got back from NYC on Wednesday and this heat wave in LA is confusing my internal clock. It absolutely feels like the middle of summer right now and I have to look at the colorful leaves to remind myself that it's mid-November. I'm recovering from a flu that I got while still in New York, and it feels so weird to be sickly when it's in the upper 80s outside.
I wrote in an earlier post that army green and black has become a staple color scheme for me this fall. I love this muted green shade, and I honestly can't get enough of it. I think it's the masculinity of the color that I'm drawn to, because I love mixing masculine and feminine pieces together when I come up with my outfits.
I got this army green overall from a small boutique in Seoul, and am in love with the baggy fit and small red stitching. One trick when you're wearing baggy pants or overalls is to pick a form-fitting top. I chose this black crop top from Asos with a sweetheart neckline to give definition to my figure and contrast with the bagginess of the open overalls. If you live somewhere colder than LA, you can easily swap the crop top for a form-fitting sweater like a turtleneck.
This outfit was really all about the accessories for me. I love playing with patterns, and the crosses on the clutch from Butter and the spotted print on my J.Crew loafers have such a fun dialogue with each other. To really offset the boyish overalls, I wore a wrap choker necklace from a jewelry brand I've been loving called Kavano. The bow really adds the perfect amount of feminine charm to offset the baggy look. I also added gold jewelry from Madewell and Kavano because if you haven't caught on by now, I can never wear enough rings.
Wishing you all an amazing weekend!
