Mornings in Dongdaemun
Happy first day of fall! I can't believe how fast time flies! I'm looking forward to the cooler weather, apple picking, long hikes to see the changing leaves, and pies of every kind! I'm starting off this fall season with posts from my fall trip to Korea, and of course yummy Korean dishes!
The one great thing about jet lag while traveling is that you can take advantage of waking up insanely early to get a heads start on exploring. These pictures were taken while wandering Dongdaemun ("East Gate") District, and it was fun witnessing the neighborhood slowly come alive.
I knew as soon as I saw this traditional Korean wall that I wanted to take photos by it. I absolutely love the stone brick pattern and clay tile eaves, and realized after editing the photos how lovely the pattern play was between the wall and my checkered top. When traveling, I'm all for casual comfort while not sacrificing style. Having a statement top paired with comfy shorts and flats really make for a stress-free travel outfit perfect for exploring the city all day!
